The other day I was folding laundry and listening to the radio while Ked played on his back on the bed. Then the Star Spangled Banner came on, and Ked became still. He lay there silently, looking at me or just staring somewhere, the whole song and then after as a kid recited The Pledge of Allegiance. Then as soon as another song came on he started wiggling around and again exploring whatever objects I’d given him to divert his attention. Five months old and he’s already patriotic. Call it a coincidence or blame it on the differences in sound, but I’d like to think he at least felt the spirit of that song which represents so much.

Wow. That just gave me the chills. What a neat experience! And I don't think it was a coincidence. :)
