New Year's

New Year's Eve two years ago, Sam made a great run in our game of tackle football in a foot of snow. . . and lost his shoe somewhere in the process, never to be found by the dozen of us who had been playing.

New Year's Day a year ago was the day we found out I was pregnant and expecting Ked. Never has a simple little stripe brought me so much joy.

We've never stayed up until midnight on New Year's Eve since we've known each other, and tonight may be no different. The most exciting thing we do this year may be just watching Ked roll over. With help. (Added later: Ked really did almost roll right out of this swing on New Years Day. I looked over when I heard the swing stop, and there he was on his side, being held by the ledge. Guess I'd better start using the safety belt.) And while I really wish we were still in Iowa with Sam's family to enjoy the time with them, I am content and happy to just be home with my two favorite guys. I love my life.

More on Christmas later, but for now, Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Amber, it would have been fun to hang out New Years Eve, but you are right, it is so nice to be home after a vacation. Glad to hear you made it home safely.

That was the best game of coed tackle football ever. Talk about perfect snow.
